Meet Coach Matthew
Matthew Rivera, also known as Bboy Jamrock, began his breaking journey at age 11 and has spent 20 years developing his craft through competition, performance, teaching, and community engagement. Raised and shaped by Hip-Hop culture, he has competed extensively across the Midwest and beyond, with championship wins at Taste of Victory, Red Cedar Ransom, Breakin' the Ice 2, The Dance Off Allstyles, and Blessing of the Lowriders, along with appearances at internationally recognized events including Silverback Open and Freestyle Session.
Matthew has taught breaking since 2012 through organizations including Reflections of Dance, The Cook Arts Center, Dance United, and now Creativity Unites, teaching beginner through advanced levels alongside private instruction and choreography. He approaches breaking as more than just moves; it’s cultural expression, personal development, and community connection. Matthew is passionate about passing that down to the next generation of dancers.
