Spots are filling up, and classes are built around consistent group sizes, so early registration helps us plan the best experience for every dancer. Whether you're returning to a familiar studio or trying something brand new this year, now's the time to lock in your spot. At Dance United, a program of Creativity Unites, we do more than teach dance; we continuously work to build a community where students feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow. We are a studio rooted in creativity, individuality, and purpose.
Every student, coach, and family member contributes to something bigger than themselves. We show up for one another, on and off the dance floor.
We’re committed to providing high-quality dance education in a space that is safe, fun, and deeply rooted in kindness, honesty, and encouragement. Whether your dancer dances once a week or every day, they belong here.
Our studio hours are 4:30-8:00 pm Monday-Thursday from September 14-May 20.

Our address is 420 W. 17th Street, Holland, MI 49423.
Parking is available along Ottawa Ave., behind the building off 17th Street, or in the Wildman parking lot across the street at Ottawa Ave. & 17th Street (please use this lot only after 5:00 pm).
You may watch classes on the TV monitor in our small waiting room or download the BAND app where we live stream and record classes. This allows you to view your dancer without having to wait inside the building.
Please note - we are no longer streaming or recording our Advanced level classes except for choreography.
Consistent attendance helps dancers build skills, friendships, and confidence. Being part of a class is a team effort, and every dancer’s presence makes a difference.
If your child will be absent due to travel, illness, or a school event, please notify us in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Dancers enrolled in the Academy program may not miss more than 8 class weeks during the full season (Sept-May). Exceptions are made for school activities where missing will impact their grade and significant illness.
Make-up classes: Recreational, Adult, Beginning, Intermediate, and Mini Movers classes are recorded and available through your child’s BAND App class link. Dancers can watch the video to stay caught up on choreography or technique.
Advanced classes will live stream and record choreography only. A conditioning video, created by each instructor will be provided in BAND at the beginning of the year that dancers may take in place of their missed class.
Make-up classes or refunds for missed classes are not available.
- Dance United’s Recreational season runs in 10-week sessions.
- Dance United's Academy season run September through May.
- Dance United’s Teen/Adult season runs September - December and January - May.
- If your dancer needs to withdraw from a class, please provide written notice before the 15th of the month to avoid being charged for the following month.
- Please note: All fees are non-refundable.

- Dance is for everybody. Our studio embraces all ages, sizes, and skill levels. We value the whole person and foster a body-positive, welcoming environment.
- Every dancer is unique. We meet students where they are and help them find their voice through movement.
- Passion fuels progress. We teach strong technique and encourage self-expression. When hard work and joy come together, beautiful things happen.
- Dance is a team effort. We celebrate individuality while building something powerful together.
- We lead by coaching more than instructing. Instruction teaches the steps, but coaching helps dancers grow beyond the technique. It develops confidence, creativity, and the mindset needed to thrive on stage and in life.
- In growing together. Our students, coaches, and families learn from one another. Differences make us stronger.

Most classes are $55/month and include one weekly dance class. Additional registration, costume, and performance fees may apply. Please see specific programs for more details.
Registration Fees:
Teen/Adult & Academy: $25/dancer
Recreation: $55/dancer (includes costume or class kit)
Performance Fee:
Academy: $65 per family (includes Holiday Showcase costume rental, professional video, and group photos for the Spring Recital, and two tickets to the Spring Recital)
Teen/Adult: Spring Only - $50 per family (includes everything except Holiday Showcase costume rental).
Costume Fees:
Spring Recital costumes are for the dancer to keep. These costs range between $55-$89 plus tax, per dance. These fees are due February 15th for all Academy dancers and possibly those enrolled in our Teen/Adult program.

At Dance United, our dress code is part of what makes us a team. Wearing the right dancewear encourages focus, unity, and respect for ourselves and others. The dress code is required for participation in class.
We carry a selection of tights, shoes, and studio-branded gear for your convenience. Label everything on the inside, you’d be surprised how often shoes, socks, and even underwear end up in our lost and found!
General Guidelines (All Classes) - please see the handbook for class specific requirements:
- Style specific dance shoes or dance socks (from Capezio, Bloch, Apolla) are required. No street shoes may be worn on the dance studio floors.
- Hair must be securely pulled back (including bangs) in a ponytail, braid, or bun. Kinky or natural hair: wear a secured wide headband. Breaking students: wear mid-to-low buns, braids, or ponytails.
- No crop tops, bare midriffs, or booty shorts without tights.
- No baggy clothes for any classes other than Hip Hop and Breaking.
- No shirts with inappropriate language or images.
- Skin-tone tights are required for performances unless otherwise noted.
- Dancers in 4th grade and older must wear deodorant.
- No jewelry is allowed except for small post or small hoop earrings (for dancer's safety).
We do offer a limited number of partial-tuition scholarships. Costume fees and reduced registration & performance fees are still required. Families must be enrolled in Community Action House’s Food Club to be eligible.
